Social Security COLA Increases 2.8 percent in 2019

Social Security benefits will increase 2.8 in 2019, which will be the highest cost-of-living-adjustment in seven years! That means most beneficiaries will see a $39 monthly increase, around $468 a year.

Beneficiaries should see the increase take effect in January 2019. Increased payments to SSI beneficiaries will begin on December 31, 2018.
