Baby Boomers Give the Most to Charity

Baby Boomers give more to charity than any other generation, according to a new study. The Blackbaud Institute found the average age of a donor in the U.S. is 64 years of age. AARP reports boomers accounted for 41 percent of all U.S. contributions in 2017. Boomers gave $58.6 billion to nonprofits in 2017, with the average contributor giving $1,061. Overall, the survey found giving increased 4.1% on a year-over-year basis.
