Single Women Retirees Who Own Annuities More Confident About Retirement

Annuity ownership and working with an advisor improves confidence in retirement for single retirees, especially women, finds a study from the LIMRA Secure Retirement Institute.

As you can see from this chart, women who own an annuity are 71 percent confident they will be able to live the retirement lifestyle they want, compared with 56 percent of those without an annuity. 67 percent of women who have an annuity say they are confident their savings will last until they turn 90, compared with 47 percent who don’t have an annuity.

The study also found three-quarters of single men and women retirees who work with an advisor say they’ll be able to achieve the retirement lifestyle the want, compared with 66 percent of single men and 54 percent of women.
